We’re over the moon to share some incredible news.

Glassmoon Services has officially been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™ 2025 by Great Place to Work® — and we couldn’t be prouder.

96% of our colleagues agreed with this statement “I am offered training or development to further myself professionally”

This recognition reflects our long-standing belief that when you invest in people, you create the conditions for purposeful, impactful, and meaningful work. From our very first induction programme, when we launched four years ago, we’ve been intensely passionate and purposeful about investment in the development and up-skilling of all our colleagues.

Every year, we invest significantly above the sector average* in developing our teams to deliver specialist care and support for vulnerable adults, people who might otherwise be detained in secure units. Our leadership and development strategy plays a vital role in supporting their rehabilitation and recovery, from institutionalised services, into living their best life in the community.

Development should be accessible, valued, and supported at every level. We pay all our colleagues for their training time and empower them to track their progress through our learning management system. Last year, we launched our first original Glassmoon e-learning module, a milestone in our journey.

We’re also proud to have one of the highest Care Certificate completion rates in the sector at 95%. Our apprentices are given protected time off from the rota to focus on their qualifications, as we understand how challenging it can be to balance work and study.

We regularly welcome exceptional people with lived experiences, such as the incredible Alexis Quinn from the Restraint Reduction Network, to support ongoing professional growth. And through our “Learning and Leading with LOVE” programme, we’re nurturing the next generation of leaders with a values-driven approach to leadership development.

Over 20% of our colleagues have progressed into new roles through internal promotions since we started. We’re also incredibly proud that our Head of Learning, Mark Kite, was awarded with the 2024 Proud to Care Cornwall Workforce Development Award, recognising his outstanding contribution to learning and development in the care sector.

Mark Kite, our Head of Learning and award winner , says:

“Learning and development at Glassmoon Services is about equipping every colleague, from new starters to senior leaders, with the confidence, skills, and support to bring their full, authentic selves to work, unlock their potential, and take pride in what they do.”

To our brilliant team: thank you for everything you bring to Glassmoon Services.
